Illuminated Manuscript Mutable Talisman - Necklace

Sale price$ 65.00

Throughout medieval history there were bizarre images depicting humans, demons, and animals. These were amongst grimoires as well as religious manuscripts. Designed by the artist who has studied medieval and renaissance art in New York and Italy, this line of jewelry is meant to bring historical context into the everyday magical practice of intention, reclaimed in a personal charm.

The particular image on the back is taken from the Rutland Psalter, a 13th century English prayer book and depicts a pan like character playing a flute. I’ve added the dancing characters and the golden moon with images of protection and transformation imagery on the back: snake, dandelion, lavender, the “gory”ogham symbol for ivy which represents strength and binding to the transformations one embraces.

This unique porcelain pendant is carefully crafted by hand, measuring 1.5" x 1" and had miniature paintings on both sides which has glaze and gold luster details. Attached to a 20" chain plated with iron gold.

This pendant is unique and a statement piece but also provides protection as the iron properties of the chain complement the resonant energy enhancing quartz within the porcelain.

Handmade in Portland, OR by Keven Craft Rituals.
